Enlightened academy and cultural retreat
After the death of their only son Ånun, Anup Rej and Ragne Birte Lund established a foundation in the memory of their child. The main objective of the foundation was to inspire and support creativity in children. While encountering talented children with creative potentials, Anup Rej dreamt of building a creative retreat where children would receive education and awareness that would help them to explore the cosmic dimension in human life. In this pursuit he started a project of education called ”Mind Body and Cosmos”, which could help children to understand the relations of the physical world, the mystery of the human mind, and relations between mind and physical world with the things existing in the greater cosmos.
He believes that these understandings are necessary for human beings to gain an enlightened perspective about freedom and meaning of life which may prepare them for an enriched life in the adulthood. He pursues this dream by building a cultural retreat which is a preparetory stage for an enlightened retreat in the adult life. In his vision of an enlightened world people receiving education and training in such enlightened retreats should be responsible for carrying out the process of democracy in the society, which would bring security, justice and equality to all. He is working to build a model of this enlightened retreat in his summer place by Sognefjord in Norway.
